“Catalyst”

This painting says so much! It is named "Catalyst" because it was created as a direct result from having been critiqued at the Maitland Art Center. Filled with so much excitement, inspiration and a fever to create I produced this painting. Creating this piece definitely sparked a fire in my soul that became a catalyst for future works.

What this painting represents in a mineral world is the beginning of chemical changes of minerals in their liquid state to a solid form. The solid rock is on both corners of the painting and as the minerals combine in the center they are carried across to either side to become solid and strong. Building up the foundation of a mineral base.
